1. Set the volume to an appropriate level. You may adjust the volume by using the < Fn > key combinations. < Fn > + < F11 >: Decreases speaker volume. < Fn >+ < F12 > : Increases speaker volume. < Fn > + < F10 > : Mutes the speaker. 2. Verify that the Microsoft Windows volume is properly set and is not muted in the Taskbar Volume Control and in the applicable output controls in the Playback Master Volume Control. Click the speaker icon on the Microsoft Windows system tray to open the Volume control.
Double-click the speaker icon on the Windows system tray to open the Master volume control. 3. Connect external speakers or headphones/microphones to the audio jacks to verify audio. Microphone Jack: The microphone jack is designed to connect the microphone used for Skype, voice narrations, or simple audio recordings. Headphone Output Jack: The 1/8”stereo headphone jack (3.5mm) connects the Eee PC audio out signal to amplified speakers or headphones. Using this jack automatically disables the built-in speakers. 4. Verify that the most recent driver for the audio is installed. After the driver is installed successfully, you will see under Device Manager: 5. Verify that the most recent BIOS for your Eee PC is installed. You may run ASUS Update Utility which is preinstalled on your unit to perform the BIOS update.
