Troubleshooting :
How to use Windows Easy Transfer?

Solution

First, please download a compatible version of Windows Easy Transfer for current Windows OS.
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/results.aspx?pocId=&freetext=Windows%20Easy%20Transfer%20for%20windows%207&DisplayLang=en

Windows Easy Transfer supports the following operating systems
• Windows XP (SP2 and higher) to Windows 7
• Windows Vista (SP1 and higher) to Windows 7

Windows Easy Transfer supports transfers using any of the following methods
• USB Easy Transfer Cable
• Network connection
• Removable media ( such as a USB flash drive or external hard disk )

Additional Information
You can transfer files and settings using a network, USB Easy Transfer Cable, removable media, or an external hard drive. Windows Easy Transfer does not migrate installed programs. Both computers must support the transfer method you choose. For example, if you choose to transfer the data across a network, both computers must be connected on the same network.

7.) Once finished, Windows will give the option to view which files have been transferred…

…and which programs you will need to install for some settings to work correctly.
