My system cannot output sound via its S/PDIF output when playback DVD titles under VISTA 64bit using popular DVD playback applications.
The same problem does not occur when I try to output via analog audio jacks, nor will that happen under 32bit operating systems.
What can I do to resolve this problem?

Solution

This is because Windows VISTA 64bit has some trouble allowing 32bit applications to output S/PDIF raw data to the audio playback device by using the WaveCyclic miniport driver.
To fix this problem, please kindly refer to the link to obtain the related patch file:
